VCE counties in PD 7 in partnership with the Loudoun County Government, Loudoun Soil & Water Conservation District, and USDA will host an information series for beginning and explorer farmers starting October 4th and running through 11 November.
Topics addressed will include personal and farm goal setting; assessing your resources; considerations for: infrastructure, finances, marketing; overviews of land-use tax deferral, county & state cost-share incentives, and an introduction to USDA services for county residents.
The ideal participant is someone who: recently purchased land or a farm, is considering starting a farm business, wants to instill an appreciation for agriculture in their child, or is simply considering starting an agricultural activity. Participants can attend in-person in Leesburg or online via Zoom each Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00PM. This program is offered without fee.
